Morris is Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer at BlocPower. Prior to BlocPower, Morris worked at Red Oak Growth Partners, a middle market private equity fund focused on leveraged buyouts, majority recapitalizations, and transformations of family-run technology and software-enabled services businesses. While at Red Oak, Morris managed the $50mm acquisition of an Israeli-based technology company and worked with the CEO and board of directors to design, implement, and track a transformation plan which enabled the company to transition from a hardware-seller to a recurring sales software platform. In his prior role as a quantitative analyst and then as project manager at Real Capital Analytics, he worked with cross-functional teams of developers, researchers, and salespeople to develop new products for institutional real estate investors. In 2009, he co-founded Difra, a startup that successfully designed and patented a unique software algorithm to automate a portion of the residential construction process. Morris graduated with dual bachelor degrees in math and physics from MIT, and is a 2013 MBA graduate of Columbia Business School. Morris structures project finance for BlocPower’s shared energy savings contracts that allows us to leverage private sector capital at a 3:1 ratio and ensures that customers, lenders, and equity investors realize financial, social, and environmental returns.
