Dale Bryk is the NRDC’s Director of Programs, together with Susan Casey-Lefkowitz. Susan and Dale coordinate the work of the programs at a cross-institutional level focusing on achieving NRDC’s core priorities of curbing global warming and creating a clean energy future, reviving the world’s oceans, defending endangered wildlife and wild places, protecting our health by preventing pollution, ensuring safe and sufficient water, and fostering sustainable communities.

From 2010 to 2014 Dale was the Director of NRDC’s Energy & Transportation program where she oversaw a team of 50 lawyers, scientists and technology experts working to develop policy solutions to dramatically improve energy efficiency in buildings, appliances and industry; expedite commercialization of emerging renewable energy technologies; increase vehicle efficiency; drive investment in low-carbon fuels; and reduce vehicle miles traveled. Previously, she led our state-level climate work and was integrally involved in the development of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the innovative program that limits carbon pollution from power plants and drives investment in clean energy, launched by 10 states in 2009.

Prior to joining NRDC in 1997, Dale practiced corporate law at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. From 2002 through 2010 she also taught the Environmental Law Clinic at Yale Law School. Dale has a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Masters Degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a B.A from Colgate University.
